gina-delivery-2022

The individuals who participate with the Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels program will receive an extra special gift this holiday season.

Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels have teamed up with Tyson Fresh Meats to provide their clients with a meat bundle and a gift card to a local Perry grocery store. This is made possible from the recent donation of $5,600 from the non-profit organization of 100+ People for Perry.

When the meals are delivered to the home-bound clients on Monday is when they will also receive the meat bundles and gift cards. Lynette Groenenboom is the director of development for Perry Lutheran Homes and says they prepare, cook, transport and deliver over 20,000 meals every year to their clients at low or no cost. She adds that the Meals on Wheels program has an annual deficit of $100,000 and so they depend on the community’s help to keep it going.

The Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels program focuses on caring for older adults and others in need who are home-bound due to a variety of several reasons. They cater to individuals living in Perry and Northern Dallas County.
