Caden Duncan is the head football coach at Greene County High School. He’s also the strength & conditioning coach and in charge of athletic performances classes.
Coach Duncan talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about what athletes at Greene County do in the Winter months, whether they do a Winter sport or not. “We have athletic performance workouts going on throughout the Winter. We have them three mornings a week at 6:30 in the morning, and those are for in season and out of season athletes. We’ll cater things a little bit differently depending on whether they’re in or out of season. But then we also have our athletic performance classes during the school day, which is a really great thing we added a couple years ago, so then they can get those workouts in during school and get credit for it, rather than only having the option of early mornings.”
The Coach added there are usually 2-3 days after school when those workouts are made available. Strength is emphasized, but the Winter is when athletes also do a lot of speed work. Duncan added he really enjoys working with student-athletes.
Classes in the Greene County schools resume on Jan. 8.
