Guthrie Co. CourthouseThe Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meet briefly today in the first of their bi-weekly sessions.

To begin today’s meeting, the Supervisors will talk about a resolution to set a date for the public hearing on the county’s general obligation loan agreement as it relates to the much discussed wind turbine TIF funds.

There is currently nothing on Thursday’s meeting agenda, as County Auditor Jerri Christman says the Board plans to convene in a quorum Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock with the Iowa State Association of Counties in Des Moines.

This meeting will allow counties with Rural Improvement Zone organizations to review Iowa Code as it pertains to RIZ.

Then at 2pm, a joint meeting between RIZ Board members from around the state and ISAC will be held.  This joint session will help both sides identify and prioritize issues in legislation where the group, as a whole, does not agree.

The meeting is expected to adjourn no later than 4:30pm on Thursday.
