The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards met in regular session Wednesday night.

The Boards approved the resignation of Paraeducator Kayla Froehle, fiscal year 2025 fall coaching contracts, summer baseball contracts and hiring Heather Schmeling in the transportation department. They also discussed high school programs and offerings with information provided by Guidance Counselor Barb South, upcoming dates including parent/teacher conferences on February 13th and 15th, now school on February 16th and 19th, and the next regular school board meeting on February 21st.

The Boards then set a public hearing for the 2024-25 school calendar for March 20th, approved School Budget Review Committee modified allowable growth request regarding at-risk/dropout prevention, declared February 9th as School Counselor Appreciation Day, approved a district marketing and communication specialist and the first semester whole grade sharing invoice.

The AC Board approved the second reading of the 2023 Iowa Association of School Boards Fall Policy Primer, while the GC Board also approved their version of the second reading of the 2023 IASB Fall Policy Primer, a Chapter 103 update, activities fund transfer for the youth accounts and action on a recommendation regarding the termination of a classified employee. They also had an action for an updated version of two financial policies die for lack of a motion, and a motion to keep them the same as approved.
