Jefferson area tweens and teens are invited to another gathering for a special program.
On Friday, the Jefferson Library Youth Services Department is hosting a Pokemon League as part of their continuing “Table Top Theatre” programs with the Sierra Community Theatre. Fourth through twelfth grade youth are encouraged to do battles or trade different Pokemon through the card game, video games or with Pokemon Go. The Pokemon League will be held on Friday from 6-8pm in the basement of the movie theater.
Sierra Community Theatre Manager Sarah Nicholson says this is one of the ways they wanted to utilize the space they have downstairs.
“We’ve been looking at ways to diversify that and use it in more community-minded ways. So like right now there’s a partnership with the youth department at the library, and we’ve been working on a Dungeon and Dragons night, a couple of those, and they’ve been going really well and people have really enjoyed those. So we like seeing what else we can do with what we had and what would better serve the community.”
Registration for Friday night’s Pokemon League is encouraged by clicking the link below. Additionally, there will be a lure at the Sierra Theatre Pokestop to capture different Pokemon during the free program.
