One organization in Greene County recently held a first-ever type of fundraiser.
Greene County Pony Express Riders of Iowa Chairperson Petra Dawson says about 45 people attended a bingo and silent auction fundraiser at the Jefferson Elks Lodge on Saturday, January 27th. Dawson points out there were about 25 silent auction items and eight businesses donated gift cards and other items for bingo.
Dawson notes about $640 was raised from bingo, silent auction and free-will donations. All money raised is given to Camp Sunnyside Easterseals for individuals with disabilities. She appreciates everyone’s support and thanks those who donated items and the folks that made donations. Dawson is looking forward to making this fundraiser an annual event.
Dawson adds anyone can join the Greene County Pony Express Riders of Iowa that help out a common cause of children and adults with disabilities.
