The President’s Day holiday is coming up on Monday and several offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.
The Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library, Greene County ISU Extension Office, and the Jefferson Post Office will be closed in observance of the holiday. Additionally, while the Greene County Courthouse will be open for President’s Day, only the County Auditor’s Office and the Clerk of Court will be open. Greene County Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins tells Raccoon Valley Radio her office is open during the holiday, due to anyone wanting to absentee vote for the upcoming March 5th special election on the rural Local Option Sales and Services Tax (LOSST).
Jefferson residents are also reminded that due to the holiday on Monday, garbage and recycling routes will be delayed one day. Monday’s routes will be picked up on Tuesday. Tuesday’s garbage will be collected on Wednesday. Then Wednesday’s routes will be done on Thursday. Garbage routes will go back to normal schedules the following week.
