The Perry School Board held a special meeting this past Tuesday to decide on when to have students return to a full school day.
The Perry School District resumed their school year in late January after the tragic shooting that occurred on January 4th. Since returning to school, the students have been eased back in with early dismissals. Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the administration met on Friday, February 23rd to determine a date to return to full days of school. Wicks outlines the new schedule.
“Our new schedule, starting March 18th will be this schedule: high school and middle school, they’re going to start at their regular times, 7:55(am). Their day will end at 2:35(pm) with students. And then the elementary will start at 8:15(am) and they will go to 2:50(pm). And that schedule will be the same every day of the week.”
Wicks references that there won’t be anymore early dismissal Wednesday schedule and thought that after spring break would be the most appropriate time to start fresh.
