There are a few activities and programs taking place over spring break with Greene County ISU Extension.

Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says the week kicks off with a required course for any 4-H’er who wants to exhibit livestock at the Greene County Fair or the Iowa State Fair. The class is the Youth for Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) for those in 4th through 12th grades that want to show swine, sheep, goat, beef, poultry or rabbit. The only opportunity for the in-person training in Greene County happens this coming Tuesday with two sessions, including 10am and 1pm, with cost of $3 per person.

Hardaway points out the other two activities are Fun with Bots for kindergarten through third graders on Wednesday with a $20 fee from 10am-3pm and Books for Cooks that is also for kindergarten through third grade with a $10 fee from 10am-noon on March 18th. All programs will take place at the Extension Office. Contact the Extension Office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138 or stop by to sign up.
