All Greene County Democrats are invited to a free public meeting next Tuesday in Jefferson.

David Morain, chair of the Greene County Democrat Party, says the purpose of the meeting is to get a finalized version of the issues that they would like to see their Democrat candidates for the United States Senate seat, the United States House of Representative District 4 seat and the Iowa House District 47 seat to run on.

He encourages all interested individuals to attend these meetings as a way to get involved in the political process.

“The more grassroots level participation that we can build, then the better off our candidates chances will be in November.  This is not something where there’s a lot of money available and so what we lack in money, we hope to get in enthusiasm and focusing on winning on the issues.”

Following the June Primary election, the Democrat candidate, as determined by Greene County voters, for the US Senate seat is Bruce Braley, for United States House of Representative District 4 is Jim Mowrer and Hans Erickson is running for the Iowa House District 47 seat.

The meeting will be at 7pm on Tuesday, July 1st on the second floor of the Jefferson City Hall building located at 220 North Chestnut Street.
