Dallas Center – Grimes girls track and field is gearing up of the outdoor portion of their track and field season starting next week, but have already put together some nice performances so far this season.

The Mustangs were able to compete in Ames at Iowa State last week, and they were able to find some good results. Junior Maddie Schmitz was able to finish 4th in the 200 meter run. Addison Dooley finished 6th and Emily Meyers finished 8th in the girls 1500 meter run. Piper Messerly finished 4th and Maddy Stevens finished 8th in the girls 3000 meter race. Freshmen Alicia Grey finished 5th in the girls long jump, and the 4×800 team finished third with a team of Messerly, Stevens, Schmitz, and Tess Meggison. All of the competition for DCG was at the 4A level.

DCG girls will be competing in a JV/Varsity meet next Tuesday at Waukee High School against multiple schools, and will be hoping to find some success in that event.
