Today begins three days of baseball games at Walt Anderson Field in Rippey.

The 4th Annual Rippey Ruckus that features five amateur adult teams, including St. Michael’s Angels who, along with the Rippey Demons have appeared in every Rippey Ruckus; the Crystal Cubs, who are making their third trip to the Rippey Ruckus; and two newcomers with the Chicago Eagles and the Kansas City Bulls.

Activities Director Bruce Thome says the round-robin style of tournament begins with three games today, with the first one at 2:30pm and the final game taking place around 7pm. Tomorrow is five games, with first pitch slated for 9:30am and the last game around 8pm and Sunday will have two games. The team with the most wins will be crowned the champion. The winner from last year, the Omaha Cowboys, are not participating this year. 

Thome adds there is no admission fee for fans to come out and watch baseball with concession stand items available for purchase, with proceeds to benefit the ongoing maintenance of the field.
