This year’s Bell Tower Festival is less than one month away and there are lots of competitions that people can participate in.
Emily Dyer is one of the Bell Tower Festival Committee members and she says there are quite a few new activities at the three-day event. Dyer tells Raccoon Valley Radio two are food cooking contests with a Best Burger and Pie Baking, where competitors in each competition bring their ready to serve final product and judges will choose the respective winners and cash prizes will be awarded.
Dyer announces the return of a once popular sports-related tournament.
“Another one will be mud volleyball. I believe that was here a long time ago and we are bringing it back, and that’s going to be out at the fairgrounds. So I’m really excited. That’s been a constant request, so I’m glad that we can finally fulfill that for everyone.”
Dyer states other new tournaments and competitions that people can still sign up for include a pickleball tournament, a disc golf tournament that is separate from the festival but happening congruent to it, and there’s been an upgrade to the bags tournament.
“So we are having Better Cornhole come and they are going to host it and maintain it to make sure the official cornhole rules and regulations.”
Dyer notes the other contests that have been at previous festivals are back again this year with the Ding Dong Dash, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, trivia, the parade, and the car show. She adds all registration information can be found on their website, their Facebook page, which you can click on both of the links below, as well as contacting the Welcome Center at 515-386-2155.
