The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office held its annual car show on Saturday where over 150 vehicles took part.
The 15th Annual Dallas County Sheriff’s All-Wheel Show saw 154 registered vehicles, according to Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it’s approximately 25 more than last year’s event. He credited the weather as it was partly sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 70s. Infante says that people love coming back yearly and travel from around the country.
“Something about car people is that they love coming back year after year, it’s become a tradition for them. Every year they come back. We’ve got people from all over the country. Talked to a guy from Minnesota, Arizona, and then of course our locals walking through checking out the cars, and all of those proceeds go to Special Olympics of Iowa.”
Several awards were given out to conclude the show. Kevin McCartney from Red Oak, IA won the award for the longest drive (103 miles). The Best Off-Road Vehicle went to Mike Millerin with his 1972 Honda, Most Likely to Be Stopped By a Cop Award was given to Jack Sehman for the 1967 Chevy Camaro, and the Best of Show was Ed Origer’s 1970 Ford Mustang Boss.
