Drought conditions in the main counties of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area remain unchanged from last week.

According to the US Drought Monitor Greene, Dallas and Guthrie Counties are only facing abnormally dry conditions. Those areas affected are the northern half of Guthrie County, the southern edge of Greene County and the northwest corner of Dallas County. According to the National Weather Service as of Friday morning, Guthrie Center has reported 3.12 inches of rain so far in June, usually averaging 3.7 inches. Jefferson has recorded 2.33 inches and usually sees 3.63 inches of rain in June, and 1.63 inches of rain has been reported in Perry, where the average is usually 3.27 inches of rain for the month.
