Recently named Greene County High School Activities Director Dean Lansman has a State Tournament team just weeks after being named to the position. The veteran teacher/coach added A.D. to his job titles when the school board approved his hiring last month.
Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio he thinks the softball team has a chance to do something pretty special, which they already have. In their first softball state tournament, the Rams blanked sixth ranked Center Point-Urbana 2-0 on Monday night to improve to 28-7 overall and advance to the Thursday night 7:30 p.m. semifinals vs. third ranked Clarke (Osceola). “I think it’s really neat. It’s great for the county, especially when you look at the make up of the team. You have girls from nearly every place in Greene County, which is great! Coach Kennedy, Ruth, and Promes, have done a great job, and we’re very proud of all the players and coaches.”
Coverage Thursday night on KG98 begins at 7 p.m.
