Two girls from the ADM softball team have been named to Class 3A’s Central All-District Team.
According to the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and the Iowa Girls Softball Coaches Association, junior shortstop Kenzi Sutton made the the all-district squad as an infielder, while sophomore Molly Jacobsen was selected as a pitcher.
Head coach Rick Dillinger received a nice accolade as well–he was chosen as the district’s Coach of the Year.
Sutton hit .361 this past season and had an on-base percentage of .466. She finished second on the Tigers in hits (35), doubles (11), home runs (2) and third in RBIs (21), while leading ADM in triples (2) and stolen bases (9).
Sutton was a second-team all-state performer in Class 3A last season.
Molly Jacobsen proved to be one of the best pitchers in the state this year, as she went 25-11 with a 1.91 earned run average over the course of 238 innings in the pitcher’s circle.
Jacobsen ended the season with 330 strikeouts, which was still the most across all classes of Iowa High School softball entering this week’s state tournament.
All-state softball teams will be released when this week’s state tourney in Fort Dodge comes to a close.
