Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is preparing to recognize 4-H members at the annual Awards Day soon.

Extension Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that the Adair County Youth Council will be hosting the event on November 17th, starting with an ice cream social at 1:30pm, with the ceremony starting at 2pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that one of the 4-H groups will also be holding a fun activity as well.

“At the same time, the Washington Stars will be hosting a t-shirt swap at our Awards Day. So if you have any gently used county fair t-shirts, not club specific, but Adair County Fair t-shirts, bring those in. Maybe you have too many, maybe you have some that don’t fit you anymore. We’re going to have a table set up and allow 4-H’ers to come in, grab something that fits them, something they like, and take home a shirt. So they have an Adair County Fair t-shirt going home.”

Savage mentions that the public is welcome to attend the event, to celebrate and support the 4-H members on their accomplishments from last year.
