Greene County head football coach Caden Duncan and his coaching staff presented awards to players on Sunday at the high school auditorium. The Rams were 5-5 on the season and finished in third place in Class 2A District 8. A late season three game winning streak not only put the Rams into the postseason, they won a first round playoff game before falling in the Round of 16.

Senior Kamden Kinne was voted by his teammates as the Landon Martin Team MVP with senior Nicholas Stream the Offensive MVP and junior Christopher Daugherty  the Tony Andrusyk Defensive MVP. Junior kicker Teagan Chisholm received the Steven Silbaugh Award as the Special Teams MVP. Kinne also received the Ben Carman Award as the Hardest Working Senior and the Scheuermann/McCable Award as the top Offensive Lineman. The Allensworth Cup us presented to the Most Improved Offensive Lineman and that went to junior Joey Frantz. Junior Aden Bardole received Most Improved Player of the Year honors and the Scout Team Player of the Year was sophomore Brennan Jacobs.

Awards from the coaches to the players include the Hard Hat Award to Conner and Graham, the Overall Commitment Award to Kinne and Nicholas Stream, and the Ram Charger Award to Camden Jacobs and Habben.

Players earning varsity letters were seniors Marcus Ball, Crew Conner, Patrick Graham, Bryce Habben, Camden Jacobs, Kinne, Stream, Camden Strennen, and Braeden Turner. Junior lettering were Bardole, Adam Bills, Chisholm, Daugherty, Frantz, Phoenix Hartman, Keegan Lawrence, Rafe Michaelsen, Eyezayah Scheuermann, Broc Stream, and Drew Wolterman. Lettering as sophomores were Moses Brown, Mason Haley, Brennan Jacobs, Jaron Jacobs, Trevon Keely, Degan Miller, Zack Stalder, and Bryce Stephenson. Senior Sadie Shannon and junior Rozella Helms and Madison Mobley also lettered as managers.

Players and managers in grades 10, 11, or 12 with 3.50 or higher Grade Point Averages on a 4.00 scale earned All-District Academic honors. That includes Graham, Habben, Camden Jacobs, Nicholas Stream, Kinne, Bardole,, Chisholm, Hartman, Wolterman, Brennan Jacobs, Jaron Jacobs, Stalder, Mobley, and Shannon. Rams earning All-State Academic honors are Graham, Habben, Kinne, and Nicholas Stream.

Sixteen players earned District 8 All-District honors and that story appeared earlier on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Kinne and Keely also earned second team All-State honors in Class 2A from the Iowa Football Coaches Association. Kinne as an offensive lineman and Keely was named as a return specialist.
