A public event is happening this Sunday where people can see several holiday decorations around Jefferson in a specific setting.
According to Jan Rosdail there is a “Church Christmas Tour” that features five Jefferson churches that are on the route and people are invited to see their holiday decorations from 2 to 3:30pm on Sunday. The participating churches include First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, Central Christian Church, First United Methodist Church and Christ Lutheran Church. Rosdail points out that these are self-guided tours, with refreshments, and do not need to be done in a certain order. She adds that an incentive is a passport will be available at each church and at the Jefferson Matters Office and for those individuals that get them stamped at all five churches can submit them for a drawing of two door prizes following a concert by the Town and Country Band that starts at 3:30pm in the sanctuary at Central Christian Church.
Town and Country member Tori Riley says their concert will be “Music of the Season” with a variety of Christmas songs. She adds that the same type of concert will be played the day before on Saturday at 7pm at the Paton-Churdan auditorium. Both performances are free, but free will donations will be accepted for the ensemble.
