Cindi Daubendiek taking Oath of Office for Board President

At the November Greene County School Board meeting, there was a passing of the torch in terms of leadership.

Cindi Daubendiek had served as Board Vice President for two years and then was nominated and elected to become the new Board President. Superintendent Brett Abbotts is excited to work with Daubendiek as the new Board President.

“Cindi and I have always gotten along very, very well (and) very professionally. And so just looking forward to continuing the work that we’re doing here at our schools, and I would expect that the transition to be pretty seamless and our board relationship to be very stable as well.”

Bonnie Silbaugh served as Board President for the past two years

Abbotts appreciates the previous Board President that served the last two years, Bonnie Silbaugh and what her leadership meant to him and the community.

“Well Bonnie is fantastic to work with. She brings such a positive light to our school (district) and our community, and she was really excellent to work with, (as well as) bounce ideas off of, and really kind of engage in like a positive relationship between Superintendent and Board President. So (I) really can’t thank her enough.”

At the same November meeting, with Daubendiek succeeding to be President, the Board then nominated and elected Michelle Fields to serve as Vice President. The officer elections are typically held during the November Board meeting.
