Minor League baseball pitcher Trenton Wallace is spending time in Greene County with his girlfriend Taylor Wessling. She’s a Greene County High School and U. of Iowa graduate while he’s a Davenport Assumption graduate who also attended Iowa and pitched for the Hawkeyes from 2018-21.
Drafted in the 13th round of the Amateur Player MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2021, Wallace is working his way up the minor league system. He’s a left-handed starting pitcher who began the 2024 season in AA in New Hampshire, then finished the season at AAA Buffalo, which is just one step away from the major leagues.
During a telephone interview with Wallace, Raccoon Valley Radio asked him where he thought he’d be to begin the 2025 campaign. “I don’t really know. Obviously, I’d like to help out the big league team whenever they feel I’m ready. I think I’ve got some more developing that I’m working on still, trying to advance and make the jump, but whenever they feel I’m ready, I’ll be ready to compete for them.”
The full interview with Trenton Wallace will air during the Dec. 30 PM Sports Magazine KG98 Edition. Air time is 6 p.m.
