The Perry football team will have some holes to fill at the skill positions this year with key graduation departures to Seth Stetzel and Ben Daniels.  One area Perry won’t have to worry about is the play at quarterback.  All State senior Will Whiton returns after compiling over 2000 yards of total offense a season ago.  Whiton completed 47% while throwing for over 1100 yards.  The question becomes who will Whiton hand the ball and throw the ball to?

Nic Wilhelmi and Blake Jans appear to be the leading candidates.  Wilhelmi rushed the ball 8 times for 90 yards last year plus was a factor in the passing game hauling in 11 receptions.  Jans is a big play back that should see his role increase this year.  The Bluejays return only 22 receptions off last year’s team with Whiton responsible for 8 of those catches.  Perry will travel to ADM on August 29th for the season opener.
