The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session Monday night.

The Council will consider for approval a new hire for the public works department, maintenance of a platted street north of 818 North Main Street, the annual salary contribution for The Stuart Depot Manager, and a marketing proposal with Main Street Marketing. They will also consider for approval a strategic plan from the Stuart Chamber of Commerce, a revenue purpose statement for the electric franchise fee, then hold public hearings for franchise ordinances with Guthrie County Rural Electric Cooperative and Farmers Electric Cooperative, and consider for approval ordinances related to those franchise fees, following the hearings.

Next, the Council will consider for approval an hourly contract proposal from Veenstra and Kimm, the fifth pay estimate for the 2023 Sanitary Sewer project in the amount of $24,462.50, an accessory building at 411 Northeast 2nd Street, as well as police body cameras and software before conducting a vicious dog hearing. They will consider for approval a possible increase of the property tax levy, set a public hearing for the proposed fiscal year 2025-26 budget, as well as hear an update from Stuart Economic Development Director Matt Funk, and make a proclamation for Problem Gambling Awareness Month for March.
