A local group in Greene County that was formed from a national organization recently announced its newest scholarship recipient.
The PEO Chapter CZ awarded Cherie Cerveny with a $400 scholarship that is being used toward her bachelor degree program in social work. Cerveny already has her associate’s degree from Des Moines Area Community College. She most recently began a new position as the regional center supervisor for HeadStart. Prior to that, Cerveny was with the former Greene County Early Learning Center, now The Children’s Center for 17 years as its executive director. She is married to Jason and they have four sons.
This scholarship has been offered by PEO Chapter CZ to local women or those with local connections who are continuing their education since 1990. P.E.O. is an international philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.
