The current winter weather conditions are negatively impacting Guthrie County.

County Engineer Josh Sebern says that road conditions throughout the county are very rough, with multiple highways closed and/or impassable. Travel is not advised by any means. Per Guthrie County Board of Supervisors Chair Maggie Armstrong, the County Offices of Auditor, Assessor, Recorder and Treasurer are closed today. She adds that the Transfer Station is also closed, due to a power outage caused by the storm. Armstrong mentions that the County will continue to post updates via their Facebook Page.

Both Panora Mayor Curtis Thornberry and Guthrie Center Mayor Mike Herbert share that there is power in both cities. Power is also on in Stuart, and Stuart Public Works Director Jim Henderson says that travel is not recommended, and that visibility is terrible at this time. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it becomes official.
