The AC/GC Chargers track and field teams are getting their seasons started this week.

Head Boys Coach Cody Matthewson says that the boys have their first meet of the season on Thursday as an indoor meet, and mentions that the girls team will follow suit with an indoor meet on Friday. The boys meet will be held at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center in Ames beginning at 3:15pm Thursday, with other area teams like CAM, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Earlham, Madrid, Nodaway Valley and Paton-Churdan also in attendance.

The girls meet will also be held at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center in Ames, with a start time of 9am on Friday. AC/GC will face other area teams like CAM, Earlham, Madrid, Nodaway Valley, Paton-Churdan and many others. Both teams will compete in events such as the 200 meter and 400 meter dash, long jump, high jump, and indoor shot put, along with multiple relay events and 800 meter and 1,600 meter runs.
