The girls Iowa Association of Track Coaches Indoor Track & Field Championships were Friday inside the Lied Student Recreation Center in Ames. Coach Derek Merk watched as the Greene County girls competed in six Class 2A events. The highest finish for the Rams was in the shot put by senior Daniele Madsen. She placed seventh with a best toss of 35 feet, 3 inches. There were 30 throwers with the top nine advancing from the prelims to the finals. Madsen was seventh after the preliminary round and did not move up or down after the three throws in the finals. Her two points for finishing seventh were the only points the Rams scored.
Senior Payton Kokenge was fourteenth among 30 high jumpers. She cleared the bar at 4′ 9″, then bowed out after three misses at 4′ 11″. Junior Kaycee Pittman was fourteenth in the 400 meter dash in 1:04.81 and fifteenth in the 800 run in 2;35.79.
