With the first meet for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Golf Team a week away, three seniors prepare for their final season.
Annelise Kreifels, Hattie Lande, and Mackenzee Lathrop are three of the five seniors on ADM’s team as they gear up for their last run in high school. Lathrop tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she got the love of golfing from her father as they would have hitting competitions growing up on different courses. Lande shares what’s been helping her in the offseason prior to the opening meet.
“I would say taking lessons is the number one thing. I mean they help you evolve so much in golf. On season and offseason, I think it’s good for you to take lessons just so you can keep growing, because there’s always something new to learn.”
Kreifels describes her approach for her senior year.
“I think I really want to take my time and slow down a little bit. I think it’s really easy to rush through a round, especially when it’s the first meet, and you’re kind of just like ‘we’ll this one is the first run through,’ but I just want to slow down and really be focusing on every shot, and make them count.”
The first meet for ADM is set for next Monday, April 7th against Gilbert at the River Valley Golf Course in Adel. Kreifels, Lande, and Lathrop can be heard during tonight’s Raccoon Valley Bank PM Sports Magazine on KDLS 94.3/99.7 FM and 1310 AM.
