April 14th

Michael Lomax, Des Moines, was driving on 240th St at R22 when a vehicle driven by Salvador Garcia Rivera, Perry, entered the intersection and struck Mr. Lomax vehicle.  Occupants were checked by EMS and declined further treatment. Mr. Lomax vehicle sustained an estimated $10000 damage.  Mr. Rivera’s vehicle sustained an estimated $20000 damage.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Mr. Rivera was issued a citation for No Valid Driver’s License and Fail To Obey Stop Sign And Yield Right Of Way.

Laura Uthe, Adel, was backing out of a parking spot on Fairgrounds Road, when a vehicle driven by Alexander Buck, Des Moines, saw her backing up and stopped.  Ms. Uthe did not see the vehicle behind her and struck Mr. Buck’s car.  No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $1000 to Mr. Buck’s car and $2500 to Ms. Uthe’s car.

Jose Sanchez, age 34, 68 Thayer, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Violation Of Probation Terms.

Eudardo Rodriguez Gaytan, age 49, 309 Court Ave, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original charge was Domestic Abuse Assault.

April 15th

Arthur Clark, age 46, 410 E. 4th St, Atlantic, was arrested for Operating While Under The Influence.  He was also cited for Speeding.

John Mortimer, Dallas Center, was driving in the 25000 block of R Ave, when for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole and tree.  Mr. Mortimer was taken to the hospital by Dallas County EMS for evaluation of any injuries.  Damage to his vehicle was estimated at $30000.  Damage to the utility pole is estimated at $2000 and damage to the tree was estimated at $500.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
