The leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Track and Field Team feels blessed to continue growing with the program during his tenure.

Head Coach Jesse Hunt shares that he was hired in the fall of 2018 to be an assistant football coach, then saw the opportunity to lead the boys track team in the spring of 2019. He reveals that prior to taking the position at ADM, he was the girls track coach in Waukee for a number of years. Hunt tells Raccoon Valley Radio that his goal with track and field was to generate excitement for the sport, and that it’s been possible thanks to the coaching staff. He acknowledges that the parents have been instrumental in the school’s success.

“We’ve been very very fortunate to have a lot of amazing families and great kids involved. Whether they were superstars on the track, they certainly building up the program the right kinds of ways, and it’s been awesome to see both girls and boys programs really build together and push each other, and our motto for this year is ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’ and I feel like whether it’s on our individual squads or certainly the girls team is having a phenomenal season, and it’s great to see those successes when there’s a lot of hard work going into each season as well as into the offseason.”

Hunt says it’s been awesome working with so many amazing student-athletes over the years and is looking forward to being apart of a small journey in their lives. ADM recently participated in the Drake Relays and will return to track today at 4:15pm in Carlisle for an invitational.
