Three students from Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School are being recognized for their academic excellence by the state of Iowa.

Perry senior Olivia Christensen plus ADM’s seniors Addison Herrick and Thora Hegarty have been chosen for the 2025 Governor’s Scholar Program. According to the Iowa High School Athletic Association, the students that are honored are selected by their schools as the highest academic achievers. 

The Iowa Department of Education states that the largest 64 schools in the state were encouraged to pick two seniors who were the highest academic achievers throughout their first seven semesters, while all other schools chose one individual. An award ceremony was held at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines on April 27th.
