Congratulations to West Central Valley’s Dexter Elementary for earning second place in the state for their scores in math and reading.

According to the Iowa Department of Education, Dexter students ranked better than 99.7% of elementary schools in Iowa for their overall performance in math and reading scores for the 2013-14 school year.

Students increased their average math score by 13.9% from the previous year and there was a  20.2% increase in reading scores.

WCV Superintendent Dr. David Arnold says they have elementary learning centers that provide students the appropriate learning experiences to develop their overall education.
