The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team was supposed to begin the 2025 season today with a doubleheader against Southeast Polk, but the incoming weather has changed the schedule slightly.
In the 2024 season, ADM finished 16-15 overall (9-7 inside the Raccoon River Conference) losing in the Class 3A Substate 2 Second Round game versus North Polk, 6-5. The Tigers graduated four seniors from last year’s team as ADM has five seniors for the 2025 season including Jaxson Book, Grant Jansen, Reed Ausdemore, Cade Fisher, and Owen Evans. Head Coach Jason Book knows he has a reliable upperclassmen group.
“Those guys have been doing a great job at practice helping get guys ready and coaching them up. It’s just a really good group, just like we’ve had in the past and they do a good job of leading, and helping us coaches teach baseball as well. The little tips and tricks that they know, they pass onto the younger guys, and we’re just a big family. We go out every day and try to have as much fun as we possibly can.”
Southeast Polk has won all five meetings with ADM since 2013, as the Tigers will seek their first victory versus the Rams tomorrow. The first game will start at 5pm, with the second game to follow, and Raccoon Valley Radio will carry that later game on K107.9 KKRF.
