May is School Board Appreciation Month, and the leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District celebrates the local board.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe, who’s been in his position for 17 years, says he is very blessed to have passionate individuals on the board that care about the community. He mentions that the board exudes the district’s qualities of being “Humble, Hungry, and Smart.”

“They lead with integrity and they’re courageous. They have very high expectations for me as a superintendent and everybody on the administrative team. They major in the majors, don’t get bogged down in the minors. I can’t thank them enough, they don’t get enough ‘thank you’s’ over the course of their service. We have a tremendous school board, and our results and the great things that are going on are largely due to their leadership.”

The board consists of President Tim Canney, Vice President Nikki West, along with board members Bart Banwart, Melissa Dohlman, and Heith Hockenberry.
