Recently a bill introduced by US Representative for Iowa’s Third Congressional District Zach Nunn advanced in the US House of Representatives.

Nunn says that the Encouraging Local Emerging Ventures and Economic Growth “ELEVATE” Act is meant to help promote small businesses and organizations like Main Street USA. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio how the bill aims to accomplish this.

“It specifically improves capital for Iowa innovators and allows an Iowa-based startup and small firms to attract these investors without the regulatory burden that, right now, is only favoring larger corporations, particularly those in the Silicon Valley. You know, (the) Boston and New Yorks of the world.”

Nunn mentions that the ELEVATE Act also closes a regulatory loophole that would punish job creators, by fixing discrepancies requiring a local company to file an Initial Public Offering.
