Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has two library programs going in the month of June.

Program Director Shelby Van Horn says that they decided to go with two themes that matched the Summer Reading Program theme that libraries are following this year, which is “Level Up at Your Library.” She mentions that the first is “Game of Best,” where children will be able to play different games and try to win them. Van Horn tells Raccoon Valley Radio about the second theme that they have for these programs.

“Tricky Towers is also kind of like a game to see who can build the tallest tower out of spaghetti noodles and marshmallows to resemble some of the towers and structures on Iowa State’s campus.”

Van Horn explains that the remaining library program days are June 19th from 2-3pm at the Panora Public Library, June 25th from 2-3pm at the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library and from 3:30-4:30pm at the Bayard Public Library, with the final one to be held from 4-5pm at the Jamaica Public Library on June 26th.
