A Lake View woman was recently arrested in connection with a Jefferson teen who is accused of attempted murder.

According to court documents, 25-year-old Alexis Carothers is accused of aiding and abetting the incident on May 4th where 16-year-old Keegan Kennedy from Jefferson, pistol whipped the victim several times in the face before firing one shot from the pistol into the victim’s head, from inside a vehicle, with the intent to cause serious injury. Court documents show that Carothers knowingly helped Kennedy carry out the act and tried to conceal and/or destroy the weapon. She is also accused of moving the victim from one place to another without the victim’s permission.

The criminal complaint shows an arrest warrant was issued on June 2nd charging Carothers with two Class B Felonies for attempted murder and second degree kidnapping – armed with a dangerous weapon, a Class C Felony for willful injury causing serious injury, a Class D Felony for going armed with intent and an aggravated misdemeanor for interference with official acts – obstruct prosecution. She was arrested on June 3rd in Auburn and was booked into jail and remains there under a $250,000 cash or surety bond. There is also a no contact order in place with the victim.

Kennedy was charged in adult court with a Class B Felony for attempted murder and a Class C Felony for willful injury causing serious injury. He pled not guilty at his arraignment hearing and waived the right to a speedy trial. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
