
Last night the West Central Valley baseball and softball teams played host to the Nodaway Valley Wolverines. Wildcat softball defeated Nodaway Valley 10-2 while WCV baseball defeated the Wolverines 18-8.
Wildcat softball would find themselves down by one run against Nodaway Valley until the bottom of the fourth where West Central Valley would score three runs to take a 3-1 lead. A big fifth inning would see the Wildcats scoring seven runs, with Lili Gilbert would hit a two run home run over the left field wall scoring Meleah Sprichinger. Speichinger would get the starting nod for the Wildcats, allowing five hits with two runs, an error, two walks and two strikeouts in the 10-2 victory over Nodaway Valley.
For Wildcat baseball, a big sixth inning would help push the Wildcats over Nodaway Valley for a final score of 18-8. Third baseman Jarel Madison would go 3-4 with three hits and six RBIs as West Central Valley would finish the night with 17 hits and 16 RBIs. Zach Teague would also find success ending the night 2-1 with three RBIS in the 18-8 victory over Nodaway Valley.
The Wildcats return to action today in Earlham for double header action against the Cardinals. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 5pm for baseball and 5:30 for softball.
