Nathan Behne, a 2024 Greene County High School graduate, and football kicker for Upper Iowa University in Fayette, is among those honored by the Great Lakes Valley Conference for academic achievement. Behne was among 39 UIU students to earn the GLVC Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar Award.  Named after the former longtime Lewis University President, the award is present annually to student-athletes competing in GLVC sponsored sports who achieve a 4.00 grade point average during the course of the academic year.

Behne was named to the GLVC second All-Conference team following the 2024 season at Upper Iowa. He earned All-State honors as a kicker for the Greene County Rams while in high school, while also being honored for his high academic achievements. Nathan is the son of Carl and Allison Behne, formerly of Jefferson.
