With the rainy conditions that have disrupted several sporting events recently, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball was able to complete their game against Winterset on Friday, falling 8-7, and gear up to host a double header versus Gilbert today in Adel.

The Tigers originally began their contest with the Huskies on Thursday, which got suspended in the top of the 4th inning, with Winterset leading 4-2. The game resumed on Friday, as ADM got one run across to cut the deficit 4-3, before the Huskies added one run in the bottom of the 4th to make the score 5-3. From there, the Tigers would go onto tie the matchup at 5-5 in the 5th inning, then capture two more runs to take a 7-5 advantage into the bottom of the 6th inning. However, Winterset acquired three runs in the 6th to wrangle a 8-7 lead, which then didn’t surrender.

ADM was led by junior Leyton Gerleman, who tallied 2 runs on 1 hit, while sophomore Reid Kluesner also brought in 2 runs. The other three runs were captured by junior Auggie Young, and freshmen Mason Entriken and Ben Grife.

The losing pitcher was Tiger senior Grant Jansen, who threw 1 inning, allowed 3 hits, and 4 runs. Junior Cael Stanford went 4.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 4 runs, and sophomore Cole Waddingham finished with 0.1 innings pitched and 1 hit allowed.

ADM turns around for a make-up double header today against the Gilbert Tigers in Adel, as the first game will begin at 9:30am with the second game following at approximately 11am.
