On Monday, the West Central Valley Wildcat softball team played host to the Woodward-Granger Hawks in West Central Conference play.

The Wildcat girls found success against the Hawks after Woodward-Granger would take the lead in the top of the first. A big fifth inning would put the Wildcats ahead until the end, scoring five runs to take a 5-2 lead. Meleah Speichinger would pitch all seven innings for WCV, allowing six hits, two runs, and three strikeouts. Speichinger would also lead the Wildcats in hits with three, while Mila Orr, Lily Clausen, and Paige Blechwehl would have the three RBIs for WCV in the 5-2 victory over Woodward-Granger.

The now 13-11 Wildcats return to action on Tuesday playing host to the Des Moines Christian Lions for double header action. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 for game one and 7pm for game two.
