The 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County presented the check for their second quarter donation Tuesday.
Member Kristen Crouthamel says that at the second quarter meeting, the group chose to make the donation to the Friends of the Jamaica Library. The lump sum donation came to $14,700, which was presented to the Friends of the Jamaica Library June 1st. The Jamaica Library was founded in 1948, and is home of the Guthrie County Genealogical Society, which has helped individuals across the county trace their ancestry for over 40 years. The Friends of the Jamaica Library was formed in 2024 to support the library, and got their start during the Highway 141 Garage Sales. Members of the Friends Board mention that the funds will help provide prizes and snacks for the library’s Summer Reading Program, and sponsor a special event with Fonziba Dreams on July 31st.
