The Panora Public Library will be hosting one of their regular monthly events, with a special guest on July 25th.
Library Director Molly Allen says that their regular meeting of the Page Turners book club is extra special this month. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they are inviting the community for the event, as they host a special guest for the meeting.
“The public is invited to that meeting because we have an author visit. Anne Hannigan Kotz will be there to discuss Iowa’s prohibition and bootlegging legacy, and her third novel, ‘Moonshine by Moonlight.’ So that is at 9:30am on that Friday.”
Allen mentions that they are excited to be able to host Kotz and have her discuss the topic, especially with the focus on Iowa’s history with the topic. She adds that Kotz’s book goes over the struggle between the law and the lawless, along with the state’s prohibition journey and why many families turned to bootlegging.
