The Stuart City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council approved a bid for tree removal services, tabled a decision on allowing Steel Highway Railcams to place a camera at The Depot until more information could be gathered, and discussed the wastewater operator position that they are looking to fill, where they decided to have the City Administrator Ashraf Ashour and Public Works Director Jim Henderson meet with two council members to discuss four candidates. The Council also set a hearing for the sale of real estate at 611 North Gaines Street for the next regular meeting, approved a loan agreement providing for the placement and issuance of a $238,000 taxable general obligation insurance funding not and for the levy of taxes to pay the same amount, along with discussing bringing up some possible changes for sewer and garbage fees at a future date.
The Council then approved the road use report, a resolution prohibiting construction traffic on Northeast 2nd Street (residential), and a certified plan evaluation agreement for services. The final items approved were a partial payment to McAninch Corporation for $46,289.68, helping Region XII Council of Governments conduct a local income survey, and a proposal regarding All Saints Lot 33.
