
Senior Noah Kading manned the mound for the Chargers in their 6-4 loss to the Ogden Bulldogs. Kading struck out six batters, and only allowed two walks.
With the summer ball season finished for the AC/GC Chargers, we look back at how the players did.
For the softball team, 8th grader Jerzee Huss started in 17 of the 21 games she played, going to bat five times for three runs, being walked once and having an on base percentage of .167. She had 18 assists and 30 put outs along with six errors for a total of 54 chances, with a fielding percentage of .889. From the mound, Huss pitched in 6.2 innings, throwing 175 times to 44 opposing batters for an opposing batting average of .386 and allowing 17 hits. She also allowed 26 runs, 17 of which were earned, walked 11 batters, hit one, struck out three and had an ERA of 17.85 and walks and hits per inning pitched of 4.20.
For the baseball team, senior Noah Kading started all 24 games for the Chargers, going to bat 79 times and recording nine runs, 19 hits, with 15 being singles and four being doubles, and 21 RBIs. He was walked seven times, hit by pitch twice, reached on error twice and was struck out 18 times for 23 total bases, along with a .241 BA, .318 on base percentage and .291 slugging percentage. Kading was successful on his sole stolen base attempt, had 37 assists, 28 put outs and 15 errors for 80 total chances and a fielding percentage of .812.
From the mound, Kading pitched 39.2 innings with 676 pitches to 157 opponents for an opposing batting average of .274. He allowed 43 hits, 26 runs, of which 18 were earned, walked 19 batters, hit eight and allowed seven sacrifice plays while striking out 43 opponents for a 3.18 ERA and 1.56 walks and hits per inning pitched.
