
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board met in regular session on Monday.
According to Secretary Josh Jacobs, the board took action on several items pertaining to the 2025 General Obligation Bonds, which comes to an amount of $8.5 million. First was a resolution to appoint UMB Bank N.A. of West Des Moines to serve as the paying agent, bond registrar, and transfer agent for the school district. The board then amended a resolution to authorize the issuance of the bonds. The board also approved a tax exemption certificate and a continuing disclosure certificate as presented.
Jacobs notes that other items on the agenda that were approved included an investment plan for the 2024 and 2025 General Obligation Bonds for a total amount of $15,031,240, a Physical Plant and Equipment Levy for band instrument purchases to Rieman Music for $16,000, and an agreement with McGraw Hill for $25,654.22 to use the math intervention program Number Worlds for students at Meadow View Elementary during the 2025-26 school year.
Jacobs describes that the board approved a few items relating to the new ADM High School including an insurance coverage agreement with Builders Risk for $105,862, then for MidAmerican Energy to install a gas main in the amount of $7,691.63 as well as installing gas service piping and putting in a gas meter for a total of $36,979.94.
