A local organization in Jefferson has announced its next $1,000 grant awardee.

According to the Jefferson Rotary Club, the Boone and Greene County Probation Services has received a $1,000 grant. According to the BGCP Director Diane Hinderaker, 154 non-felony offenders were served by their program in 2024 in Greene County. Prior to their partnership with Greene County, there was no misdemeanor supervision in the county. Hinderaker says they will use the grant funds for marketing materials, a pledge drive, speaking presentations, its website and social media. She adds that the Greene County Board of Supervisors provides the majority of funding client services.

The Jefferson Rotary Club is able to make these grants available from its annual Banquet and Charity Auction that is held in November. This year’s event is slated for November 21st at the Greene Room Events Center at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson.
