Greene County residents that have specific health issues related to endocrinology can receive care at Greene County Medical Center.
CEO Chad Butterfield says the new telehealth endocrinology services are available at the medical center, making this easier for patients needing help with a wide range of ailments.
“Where the patients come in and they see a provider, see a physician in our location but the physician is in Des Moines. So that visit takes place via telehealth, so that’s been really good.”
According to the medical center, the providers that patients are seeing can help with diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary issues, menopause, infertility and hormone imbalances. Butterfield notes that having access to endocrinology services can be life-changing and offering top-tier care directly to their clinic reduces delays in diagnosis in order to improve anyone’s overall health.
These services are available the first Wednesday of the month from 8-9am. Patients can get a referral from their primary care physician or they can request a consultation by calling 515-386-2488.
