Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School recently received national recognition for being one of the best districts in Iowa and country.

According to the U.S. News and World Report for their annual high school rankings, ADM High School is the sixth best in the state of Iowa, out of 352 districts, as well as 1,458 out of 18,000 high schools nationwide. Principal Lee Griebel tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he appreciates the ranking, but that the district doesn’t fixate on that, and rather determines which methods will best benefit students.

“So we really want to push our academic programs and give kids the best opportunities they can, and our teachers are just fabulous. Having them in the classroom (to) lead our students is just a wonderful opportunity for our kids to learn at deep levels and meet our mission.”

Additionally, the report categorized ADM High School as the second best within the Des Moines metropolitan area.
